AI: What in-house counsel need to know was the topic for discussion at William Fry’s CounselConnect conference.
David Kirton opened the panel session by acknowledging that while the rapidly evolving area of AI technologies give rise to several novel legal issues, and some significant risks, the legal frameworks in which they operate are familiar. This means GCs and in-house counsel are well placed to ensure their organisations get the most out of AI technologies.
AI-related issues discussed by members of William Fry’s Technology Group, David Cullen, Rachel Hayes and Barry Scannell included the AI legislative framework, AI governance and responsible use, intellectual property and liability issues, as well as data protection and privacy concerns.
The CounselConnect conference also featured a management topic: a masterclass from Eamonn Eaton of Harvest Executive Coaching on developing a growth mindset for personal and team success.
