  • Diageo, one of world’s leading alcoholic beverages companies on trade mark and brand management matters in Ireland; the branding and packaging of new product launches; comparative advertising; trade mark licensing and contentious trade mark infringement issues; office actions before the trade marks office; and the ongoing management of its significant trade mark portfolio.
  • Eli Lilly in proceedings seeking revocation of a Novartis patent and in the defence of infringement proceedings (including a competition law counterclaim against Novartis) with respect to Eli Lilly’s product, Taltz® (ixekizumab) for the treatment of psoriasis.
  • AstraZeneca AB in its appeal to the High Court of the decision of the Controller of Intellectual Property not to grant an application for a supplementary protection certificate.
  • Skyscanner defending proceedings brought by Ryanair for trade mark infringement, copyright infringement, database right infringement and passing off.
  • Valeo Foods Group, on the management of its global trade marks portfolio; various contentious trade mark infringement and parallel import issues; the conducting of a group wide audit and gap analysis of IP owned by the group; and office actions before the IPOI, UKIPO and EUIPO.
  • X-Celeprint, the world leading company in the area of micro transfer printing, on complex multi-jurisdictional patent licensing arrangements and research and development agreements relating to its market leading micro-transfer printing technology.
  • ViiV Healthcare in patent infringement proceedings against Gilead Sciences in respect of an anti-retroviral HIV treatment (Biktarvy®/Bictegravir) and in defending against Gilead’s counterclaim for invalidity.
  • Clonmel Healthcare Limited in the defence of proceedings issued by Merck Sharpe & Dohme relating to the combination product of ezetimibe and simvastatin for the treatment of cholesterol. A reference was made to the CJEU concerning articles 3(a) and 3(c) of the SPC Regulation.
  • Workday Limited on a variety of commercial and intellectual property matters arising from the company’s various international acquisition and restructuring activities.
  • Leading Sports & Entertainment Venues on brand management and naming rights in Ireland.
